Battlefield 4 expansions on hold as DICE focus on fixing current issues first
Electronic Arts have ordered DICE to stop working on any future expansions for Battlefield 4 until such a time as existing bugs with the game can be fixed.
In a statement released to Polygon, EA claimed that “we know we still have a ways to go with fixing the game — it is absolutely our No. 1 priority.”
“The team at DICE is working non-stop to update the game. Since Battlefield 4 China Rising expansion pack was already in the final stages of development by the time issues began with Battlefield 4, we decided to fulfill our promise to deliver it this week, but we’re not moving onto future projects or expansions until we sort out all the issues with Battlefield 4.”
“We know many of our players are frustrated, and we feel their pain. We will not stop until this is right.”
The China Rising expansion appears to have introduced a fresh bunch of bugs into the game, with DICE admitting that the one-hit-kill bug the accompanying patch was meant to solve has only been sort-of solved. “Did it work? Yes and no,” said DICE lead technical scripter Mikael “sliced_lime” Hedberg on Reddit.
EA have put up a new help page specifically for China Rising issues, which you can read here.
