Battlefield 4 has been troublesome across the board, especially on the next-gen consoles, but things are looking to get better. Earlier today, DICE released a new patch for the game on Xbox One that should improve server stability and will reportedly do away with some of that version’s nagging issues.

Included in the patch, which went live at 10AM PDT, are a number of server crash fixes as well as some fixes for general in-game crashes. Thus far, crashes seem to be one of the biggest issues with Battlefield 4 as many players struggle to even get through one game let alone a meaningful play session.

Along with those general fixes, the patch also eliminates the one-hit kill bug. Although there are some guns that can kill in one hit, this bug was multiplying the damage of a single bullet, from any weapon, and downing the opposing player instantly. That’s gone.

Additionally, the disorienting blur effect that occurred any time a Commander, in Commander Mode, used an EMP has also been done away with. Having all electronic equipment down is bad enough, and plus an EMP shouldn’t necessarily effect the soldier.

Some of the other fixes are Xbox One-specific, and deal either with the console’s extremely handy suspend/resume feature or its voice chat capabilities. Check out the full patch notes below:

Spoiler:

Overall, the patch is quite a comprehensive one, but we haven’t heard whether or not it truly improves the online experience. While initial enthusiasm helped push sales of Battlefield 4, gamers have been struggling to get online and stay online since launch.

In fact, online issues became such a major problem that DICE decided to put all future DLC development on hold until they can create a stable multiplayer environment. And patches like this one show that they plan on sticking to that promise.

Have you noticed an improvement in Battlefield 4 online play since the Xbox One patch? What issues, if any, would you like to see DICE address in a future patch?
