Law firm Holzer Holzer & Fistel has launched an investigation to discover whether EA broke the law while discussing the sales and development of Battlefield 4.

In a statement issued earlier this week, Holzer Holzer & Fistel stated that it "is investigating whether Electronic Arts, Inc. and/or certain of its officers complied with the federal securities laws between July 24, 2013 and December 4, 2013. Specifically, the investigation focuses on statements issued during that time regarding the development and sales of the Company's Battlefield 4 video game and the game's impact on EA’s revenue and projects moving forward."

While the exact cause of the investigation is not clear, it appears to be related to the delay of Battlefield 4 DLC and future DICE projects following Battlefield 4's botched launch, and the subsequent fall in EA's share price.

Holzer Holzer & Fistel advises those who lost money on shares bought at EA between July 24, 2013 and December 4, 2013 to contact their attorney.

EA announced on December 5 that it had halted development on future DICE titles until "all issues" with Battlefield 4 had been resolved. A list of major bugs still to be fixed was posted by the developer yesterday.
